Last Friday I decided to treat myself, and visit Hayward Gallery’s latest exhibition “Space Shifters”. The show features the work of 20 artists spanning a period of roughly 50 years, from Alicja Kwade large-scale sculptural installation which take us on a path between reality and illusion, to Anish Kapoor distorting mirror, the exhibition messes with your senses, and disturbs your reflection.
Most of the works are made with reflective materials, so you constantly see a distorted version of yourself (art selfie lovers, this one is for you) through the exhibition. You are everywhere, you meet yourself at every corner, appear and vanish in the blink of an eye. It’s like playing hide and seek with yourself and some major contemporary artists.
The exhibition is open until January 6th. I highly recommend you to book your ticket online. Kids are welcome. More information about the exhibition here.
