Created in 2005, Art’Contest is a yearly contemporary art competition that aimed to support, and promote young Belgian talents. They offer an amazing platform to upraising artists by introducing them to art professionals, and to the ones who drives the art scene in Belgium such as collectors, gallery owners, curators or critics. The prizewinners will receive an important visibility, and there is no doubt that it will boost their careers.
Their objective is to accompany the young Belgian contemporary creation by providing a motivating and challenging framework.
I was never a huge supporter of contests, but if it can help some young creatives to be under the spotlight and to expose their work, I’m in.
How to participate?
You need to be Belgian or a Belgian resident, and be under 35 years old. The registration is free of charge, and your file needs to be sent before June 26 . Your work will be submitted to a jury of professionals (including Carine Bienfait (JAP), Albert Baronian (gallery owner), Dirk Snauwaert (Wiels’s director)), the winner will received a financial help, and (the last but not the least) a solo exhibition at the Ixelles Museum.
Be ready to put your talent out there .
